J. Michael “Mike” Jackson (born 20 August 1953)[1] is a Republican member of the Texas Senate representing the 11th District. He is also the President pro tempore of the Texas Senate. In this capacity, he has served as Acting governor of Texas while Governor Rick Perry is campaigning for President and Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst was on holiday, and then campaigning for Perry.[2]
